Hey folks...
Greetings from Cork. Lovely weather here. In fact by the standards here, it's a regular heat wave. Low to mid 70s, sunny, blue sky and even kind of humid. Today was another great day/ Two main highlights as follows...
1) Blarney Castle --- yes, Cameron and I each kissed the Blarney Stone. And the Castle itself was too cool. It's the largest castle I've seen so far, and sits a HUGE amount of land. Oops, wait, forgot to mention, before we got to the Castle, we went for a horse & carriage ride thru Killarney City Park. Slightly different from our parks back home... this one's 50,000 acres. Needless to say, we saw but a bit of if. But the ride was great, the scenery terrific and we learned a ton from our guide. So from there we went to the Castle. The Castle was nothing short of magnificent. Scenery, history, just amazing. We spent three hours there. Exchanged a couple funny text messages with Kevin (brother) while there. And I will forever now recall Blarney Castle when he and I joke about things that have made us laugh for years already. Thanks, Kevin.
2) From the Castle we went to Cork (downtown). What a cool city. Very lively and all kinds of great scenery & architecture. Cameron & I shopped MANY various stores and then enjoyed some drinks at an outdoor streetside cafe. Cameron has begun running out of words to express how much fun he's having. And I'm getting there myself.
We (the WHOLE group) had dinner at the hotel and now Cameron and I are heading back down to the lounge. Big group gathering --- we do this in each town, and it's a blast.
Well folks, I'm exhausted. Gonna go. We'll be posting tomorrow. And thanks from those of you with whom I've been in touch. Makes me happy to know you're enjoying the updates. And, as much fun as I'm having, I'm beginning to miss home and it's great to here from you. Have a great night / day / whatever. More tomorrow.
